I have a question regarding the word "VERSUS" or its abbreviation "VS" in relation to listing sporting events.

I am referring to publications that only use "VS" when listing sporting events.

When any media publication lists upcoming sporting events using VS between the two teams, which of those teams is the host site? The team to the left of VS or the team to the right of VS.

For example, Michigan vs Ohio State, which of those two teams would be the home team, Michigan or Ohio State?

Some publications will use "AT" in place of "VS".  For listings such as that, it is clear which team is the home or host site.
