In a case like Jay Cutler, does Denver still have to pay him the rest of his contract after he gets traded to the bears?

No. The Bears should fulfill the payment of the rest of his contract.

Personally, I think the Bears did well because they finally got a decent QB. The only bad thing is they destroyed their future.
